The Mountain Meadows massacre was a series of attacks on the Baker–Fancher emigrant wagon train, at Mountain Meadows in southern Utah. The attacks began on September 7 and culminated on September 11, 1857, resulting in the mass slaughter of the emigrant party by members of the Utah Territorial Militia from the Iron County district. The militia, officially called the Nauvoo Legion, was composed of southern Utah's Mormon settlers (members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or the LDS Church). Intending to leave no witnesses and thus prevent reprisals, the perpetrators killed all the adults and older children—about 120 men, women, and children in total. Seventeen children, all younger than seven, were spared.

My ex-bethelite buddy found TTATT through his prostitute friend.
by silentbuddha inso yesterday evening i get an invite through facebook fro a name that was familiar, but i couldn’t place the face.
after clicking on the page i saw a close-up pic to realize it was a friend of mine from 15 years ago at bethel.. when this guy arrived at bethel he was big time.
he was in early 20’s and had given up a job as an engineer at what was one of the largest electronics companies in the world.

When the company I worked for was associated with a national office, every year we would get a visit from a "regional manager", and the two weeks leading up to it were "clean the office" "Clear the tickets" "sign these fake inspection sheets" etc.
Realized that the CO visit was exactly the same. That's when his visit (the CO) lost its awe for me. -

by fulltimestudent inreuters news agency published a north korean perspective, a little different to most recent reports which focused on this small nations bombs and rockets.. today's story was about the resort town of wonsan - a seaside resort in north korea's where the report claims that the kim family has a residence.
i'm posting this reuter's report because it may provide some balance to the way westerners may imagine north korea.. the main focus (by western journalism) is on nk's nuclear tests and missile tests and nothing else.
that aspect is, without doubt, a matter of deep concern.

Here in the US, the county's leader is a nut job who is making life for the lower classes almost impossible, meanwhile, the Dow is hovering just below 23,000 points, so life is GREAT for the moneyed classes and upper middle class. by Tech49 inso this is an honest question that i have been thinking about for some time.. do regular jehovahś witnesses in other countries (other than the usa) take the governing body in new york seriously?.
i mean, i cant help but wonder about the publishers in japan, or south africa, or mexico, or new zealand, or even the uk, or spain, or italy...... or russia?.
not you and i (we know what you think of them), but the regular jwś...... do they take these american buffoons seriously?
